Connections. . . .
It is no doubt a small world and our Leos make our world even smaller and oh-so wonderful.
Yesterday I was talking to a lady in New Mexico who had loved and lost a Leo from my mentor breeder's E litter. This litter was born in 1994, pre-internet, and communication between Waltraut and Robin was via telephone or snail mail. Thanks to modern technology, Robin was able to take photos on her iPad of the physical photos of the von Stutensee dogs that Waltraut had mailed her in '94 and message them to me.
Banjo, Abitibi, Ballyhoo, Donner. All dogs that had already come and gone by the time that I met Waltraut but whose importance is immeasurable as they are the beginnings of Waltraut's line and therefor mine. I don't know that I can put into words how cool it is to see these photos of them. And how bittersweet it is to see their names written in Waltraut's hand on the back of each.
