Last week was the 30th Anniversary 2015 Leonberger Club of America National Specialty held in Frankenmuth, Michigan.  This was only my second National Specialty to attend, with my first having been in Estes Park, Colorado in 2008.  To say that it was a wonderful experience does not do it justice.  Around 200 Leonbergers and their people attended the show that featured a traditional European-style conformation show, two AKC-style conformation shows, a draft test and clinic, a lure-coursing clinic, and AKC obedience and rally.  Not to mention a myriad of social events.

I enjoy being a student of the breed and spend lots of time reading and watching videos of Leos all over the world in order to learn more about type and standard, but nothing compares to in-the-flesh and hands-on. For a Leo Geek this was nirvana :).
